Reba McEntire hosts the 53rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas

The 53rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be hosted in Las Vegas celebrating the accomplishments of country music this past year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.  In the running for awards are Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Maren Morris and songwriter Shane McAnnally.  Reba McEntire will host the show after Luke Bryan and Kierks Bentley held the hosting spot for the past two years.  CEO of the Academy of Country Music Pete Fisher says, “They (Bryan and Bentley) did a great job.  We just thought it was time for a change.”  Presenters include Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, actress and former model Rebecca Romijn, Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell as and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.  The award show will also feature a tribute to Las Vegas mass shooting victims that Fisher says was, “Not only devastating to the Las Vegas community, but it was also very impactful to our country music family.  For those artists and musicians to return to Las Vegas really symbolizes their courage and commitment.”
