UNLV has signed a deal with Learfield Communications to become their multimedia rights holder for the next decade.

The deal is worth $57 million. Learfield will manage UNLV’s corporate partner program that includes signage inside stadiums, television/radio broadcasts, arenas and coaches shows.

Learfield will make decisions on which stations UNLV athletic events will appear on. They will also hire announcers and select advertising.

This deal ends UNLV’s current relationship with IMG. IMG has managed UNLV’s corporate partner program since 2007. UNLV’s contract with IMG was $25 million less than this current contract with Learfield.

Learfield Communications currently manages 130 other universities partner programs. Nine of them are in the Mountain West Conference.

UNLV Athletic Director Desiree Reed-Francois is excited about the new deal.

She said in a statement, “Learfield is a nationally recognized leader in multimedia rights and understands the memorable fan experience we are trying to provide to our UNLV community. Learfield’s strong reputation for hard work, creativity and attention to detail is in alignment with the culture we are building within the athletics department.”
