Veteran standup comic Harry Basil has operated Laugh Factory at Tropicana since the club opened in 2012. Know for his spoofs of famous movies and a wide range of impressions, Basil talks of a close call in the attempt at booking Roseanne Barr at the Tropicana the day her sitcom was cancelled by ABC.
Rob Garrett has been portraying Neil Diamond since joining “Legends in Concert” in Hawaii in 1995. He is at Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, and also at Green Valley Ranch’s Grand Events Center at 8 p.m. May 25. He talks of seeing Diamond’s last show at the Forum in L.A. last August, and also his fondness for Elvis, whom he saw in Vegas 18 times.
