Sound Collage uses voices where instruments usually fill the task, sampling from the Andrews Sisters, The Beatles and Lorde in a wide range of artists. The vocal quartet of Joshua Danger Elly Brown, Shannon Joyel and Jaclyn McSpadden headline Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. Tuesday. They outline their formation, their use of “loops” and some “bad corporates.”

She returns to Cabaret Jazz for “Tapestry: Unraveled,” a tribute to Carole King. The show is 8 p.m. Sept. 15. Johnson shares her fascinating path to Las Vegas — including her time as a student at Yale — and how King influenced her life.
Popular Las Vegas artists Rockie Brown and Jason Tanzer have teamed on the new album “Rockie Brown Vol. 1,” a collection of “trash pop,” which is being premiered Sept. 8 at the Sayers Club at SLS Las Vegas.
Veteran Las Vegas “mystifier” Dixie Dooley runs the Majestik Theatre at Royal Resort hotel, which presents entertainment every night of the week (including an upcoming Houdini seance) and also performs at Boulevard Mall. He talks of his career in Vegas and teases to his Aug. 21 illusion, in which he attempts to “move a mountain” during the upcoming eclipse.
