Kats! on the Radio is an entertainment radio show hosted by John Katsilometes, senior editor and columnist for the Las Vegas Review-Journal that airs on Wednesdays at 8:00pm on KUNV 91.5 The Source. Each week Kats interviews Las Vegas celebrities, performers and executives, and sheds a little light on the always changing and ever exciting entertainment capital of the world.

Sound Collage uses voices where instruments usually fill the task, sampling from the Andrews Sisters, The Beatles and Lorde in a wide range of artists. The vocal quartet of Joshua Danger Elly Brown, Shannon Joyel and Jaclyn McSpadden headline Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. Tuesday. They outline their formation, their use of “loops” and some “bad corporates.”

Daniel Emmet is a rising star as a showman and vocalist whose show samples contemporary numbers and classics. With director Barry Lather (Usher, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood) at his side and Jerry Williams (Donny & Marie) as music director, Emmet is headlining at The Space at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Michelle Johnson, Las Vegas’s First Lady of Jazz, is a popular singer around town at such venues as the Dispensary Lounge, Bootlegger Bistro and Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at the Smith Center. She returns to Cabaret Jazz for “Tapestry: Unraveled,” a tribute to Carole King. The show is 8 p.m. Sept. 15. Johnson shares her fascinating path to Las Vegas — including her time as a student at Yale — and how King influenced her life.

Kats! (Aug. 16, 2017): Man of Majestik

Veteran Las Vegas “mystifier” Dixie Dooley runs the Majestik Theatre at Royal Resort hotel, which presents entertainment every night of the week (including an upcoming Houdini seance) and also performs at Boulevard Mall. He talks of his career in Vegas and teases to his Aug. 21 illusion, in which he attempts to “move a mountain” during the upcoming eclipse.
