Hunger Action Day gives Nevada legislature a taste of life on food stamps

Hunger Action Day started last week with the SNAP Experience where participants are challenged to not spend more than $28 which is about $4 a day on food for seven days.  The goal is for them to see what it’s like living on food stamps as well as highlight the struggles of eating nutritious meals on an extremely low budget .  During the seven day period the participants are not allowed to accept items such as free meals, prepared meals and fast food.  Nevada Legislators registered to participate include Assemblywoman Dina Neal, Brittney Miller and Senator Yvanna Cancela.  They will also share their experience on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other blogs.
