Clark County invites residents to view new voting machines

By the 2018 elections, voters in Clark County will notice major changes starting with new voting machines.  A demonstration of the new machines will be October 10 at the Election Department.  The 5,000 new machines purchased by Clark County are similar to the ones used in the past but will have a larger display screen and larger font on the paper printout.  The new machines also will stand alone with an internal backup system rather being connected to the internet like the older machines.

County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria says, “The similarities in the old and new voting machines should make this an easy transition for voters.  Anyone who is interested in getting an early look at the new machines is encouraged to contact us so they can attend the demonstration.”
